Catalog

The D2P site contains multiple relief devices from multiple manufacturers, and the catalog view is a navigable window into the complete database of relief devices, without requiring the use of specific searching criteria.  To access the catalog, choose “Catalog” in the main navigation bar.  If you know which class of relief devices you would like to peruse, hover over “Catalog” in the main navigation bar to display the sub-menu below and select the device class.  Alternatively, you can choose the relief device class and type from the treeview that appears after entering the catalog view.

Results Matrix
The relief devices that are currently in the catalog that match what you have chosen are displayed in a tabbed list.  Each tab contains the same list of relief devices, only sorted by the attribute listed as the name of the tab.  To assist the user in narrowing the search results, a matrix of relief device type versus relief device manufacturer is provided.  The entries in the matrix indicate how many relief devices are present, and when clicked, will narrow the list of relief devices shown.

Device Details
Each relief device has multiple parts and accessories, including options for some attributes, such as materials of construction.  In the list view, clicking on the hyperlinked relief device name will popup a device details window in which the attributes of the device are displayed.

Relief Conditions

The relief conditions are sets of information, specific to a user (i.e., no other user should have access to those relief conditions), that define fluid properties for use in the selection and specification of relief devices.  The relief conditions are independent of the actual relief device selection; therefore, they can be conveniently separated.  The typical entry point into the relief conditions is the list of the conditions previously specified by the user.  The user can define or modify the data associated with specific relief conditions.  Note that the searching capability will be possible without this information pre-defined; however, more capabilities will be available and the specification sheet will be more detailed if it is.  To access your list of relief conditions, select “Relief Conditions” in the main navigation bar.

Add New Relief Conditions You can add a new set of relief conditions by hovering over the “Relief Conditions” menu item in the main navigation bar, and clicking “Add New” in the sub navigation bar. This brings up an empty set of relief conditions.  At a minimum, you must provide a stream name [Fluid tab], description [Fluid tab], required effective area [Sizing tab], and opening pressure [Sizing tab].  Additional information provided help narrow selection criteria and supplies information for the specification sheets.

Modify Existing Relief Conditions
You can modify a set of existing relief conditions by selecting those conditions from the relief conditions list or from the treeview on the left side panel.

Relief Conditions Generated via Device Selection|
Note that relief device selection can be performed without specifically providing a set of relief conditions.  If you choose to perform the device selection without using a set of relief conditions, a set with the minimum information will be automatically generated when you do so.  These automatically generated sets of relief conditions are given an unique number for an identification tag, and can be found in the list of relief conditions.  You may rename or delete these as desired.

Device Selection

The searching capabilities within D2P are divided into two types: a basic search where the user provides minimal information and an advanced search where the user provides much more information needed for the selection criteria.  The basic search can be accomplished by supplying minimal information, either manually or using a set of relief conditions, and other selection criteria on one page.  The advanced search is planned for Phase II of the project.  To access the device selection, choose “Device Selection” in the main navigation bar.

Basic Device SelectionRelief ConditionsIn order to perform the basic device selection, some information about the relief conditions is required.  This information can be provided in the left side bar by selecting a previously generated set of relief conditions, or by supplying this information manually.Selection CriteriaAdditional selection criteria can be supplied in the ‘requirements' section in the left side bar. The selection results will be narrowed by the criteria given.  For example, if you were to select that only conventional and balanced bellows type relief valves should be returned by unchecking the other types of relief valves, only conventional and bellows valves will be returned.

Selection Results
After supplying the selection criteria, you can press the ‘Select' button and perform the selection.  The results of the selection are displayed in a list.

Adding to the “Specification Cart”For those devices that you would like to select for quote or RFP, you can add them to the specification cart by clicking on the cart located on the far right of each row.  This will bring up a device details window, where you can supply additional information such as the materials of construction before adding the device to the specification cart.

Advanced Device Selection
The advanced device selection will be designed to perform a much more detailed analysis of the set of relief conditions and constraints supplied by the user in order to propose the most appropriate relief device.

Specification Cart

The ‘specification cart' is used to provide a collection of relief devices that the user eventually will request specification sheets for (to use either in the RFQ or procurement process).  To access the specification cart, choose “Specifications” in the main navigation bar.  Alternatively, one may click the shopping cart present in the upper right of most of the pages.

Specification Details
The relief device details, relief conditions, and specification sheet can be accessed by clicking on the hyperlinked items within the specification cart list.  Each of these will bring up a popup window containing the details listed.

Processing
Currently, we are working with the relief device manufacturers on their preferred means of receiving the information regarding a RFQ or RFP request.  Once this information is finalized, you will be able to submit these requests directly to the relief device manufacturer.
